Our Mission
At Equal Justice Reform, our mission is to ensure that justice is accessible to everyone—regardless of income, background, or circumstance. We provide affordable legal document support, case research assistance, and self-advocacy resources to individuals navigating the legal system on their own.
Rooted in compassion and equity, we are committed to not forgetting the forgotten. From everyday people facing legal challenges to returning citizens reentering society, we believe everyone deserves the tools to understand and defend their rights.
Through education, empowerment, and unwavering support, we’re building a future where legal help is not a privilege, but a human right.
Who We Are
EJR was founded by a wrongfully convicted firefighter who turned pain into purpose. After being racially profiled and sentenced for a crime he didn’t commit, our founder fought for justice and exposed corruption that led to over 1200 overturned cases in Virginia. With firsthand experience of a broken system, he became a certified paralegal, a public speaker, and a fierce advocate for justice reform.
EJR stands for Empowerment, Justice, and Reentry—because that’s what we believe every person deserves.

Pro Se Power – Legal Empowerment for Everyday People
Pro Se Power is an initiative by Equal Justice Reform that helps individuals represent themselves in court with confidence and clarity. Designed for those who can’t afford high legal fees or simply want more control over their case, Pro Se Power provides step-by-step legal guides, downloadable templates, plain-language case law, and document preparation support.
From criminal motions to landlord-tenant disputes, family court, or post-conviction relief, Pro Se Power equips you with the tools to prepare, understand, and present your case—on your terms. We help you know your rights, speak the law, and take action with confidence.
